Bodegas Valdepablo, in collaboration with the Vice-Rectorate of the Teruel Campus of the University of Zaragoza, announces the first award for young talent in contemporary artistic creation: the Premio Valdepablo Bellas Artes Teruel.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students aged 18 and over currently enrolled in the Fine Arts degree programme at Teruel, as well as graduates from the same programme who completed their studies no more than four years ago.

Artwork Requirements

Each participant may submit a maximum of two works. Entries must consist of an artistic intervention on the 2L Casa Valdepablo Vermouth bottle. Technique and subject matter are free. Respect for the original shape of the bottle will be viewed favourably. It is an essential requirement that the brand’s distinctive cap be present in the work, unaltered in any way.

Proposals presented as artistic installations must take into account the available space in the Exhibition Hall of the Vice-Rectorate Building at the Teruel Campus and must not exceed 50x50x50 cm. In all cases, entries must include any structure, framing, or support necessary to ensure their integrity.

Participants may collect their bottles — a maximum of two per participant — every Wednesday between 18:00 and 19:00 at Office 1 of the Fine Arts Building in Teruel, or directly at the winery — Cno. de Calatayud, s/n, 50293 Terrer, Zaragoza — during opening hours.

How to Enter

Artists must send a photo of their work along with their personal details — full name and national ID number — to: marketing@valdepablo.com and/or tag @bodegasvaldepablo in an Instagram post featuring the submitted work, using the hashtag #elvermutdearagon.

In addition, the physical artwork must be delivered to “Office 1 of the Fine Arts Building in Teruel” any Wednesday within the submission period, between 18:00 and 19:00, or sent to the following address: Cno. de Calatayud, s/n, 50293 Terrer, Zaragoza.

The organisers reserve the right to publicly display all submitted works during the event to be held at the Exhibition Hall of the Vice-Rectorate Building at the Teruel Campus on 13 December 2023, between 18:00 and 20:00, as well as to share selected works through any physical or digital audiovisual channels deemed appropriate. Participants may collect their works at the end of the event on that same day. All transport costs are the sole responsibility of the authors; the organisation accepts no liability for any damage incurred during this process. The organisation will take reasonable measures to ensure the integrity of displayed works but cannot be held responsible for damage caused by circumstances beyond its control. By entering, participants release the organisers from any liability arising from third-party claims relating to infringement of industrial or intellectual property rights connected to the submitted work.

Dates

The competition opens on 25 November 2023, from the moment it is announced, and closes on 4 December 2023 at 23:59. Entries will only be accepted within this period. Late submissions will not be considered. The organisers reserve the right to postpone or extend the competition period in cases of force majeure, as well as the right to interpret these terms and conditions.

Jury

The jury will be composed of a member of the Bodegas Valdepablo management team and two other individuals from the arts sector, including a member of the university faculty representing the institution. The organisation reserves the right to withdraw or reject any work it deems unsuitable for the purposes of the competition. The jury may award special mentions to other entries if it sees fit. Awards may be left unawarded if no entry meets the required standard. The results will be announced at the event held at the Exhibition Hall of the Vice-Rectorate Building at the Teruel Campus on 13/12/2023 at 18:00.

Prizes

This competition carries a first prize of €250 (subject to income tax withholding). At the jury’s discretion, up to two additional works may be recognised with a certificate of merit as runners-up. The prize may be left unawarded or granted jointly, in which case it will be divided proportionally among the winners. The winner must provide all relevant information to confirm their eligibility as a valid participant.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions. Any failure to accept all or part of these terms will result in the exclusion of the participant, releasing the organisers from any obligation towards them.
